Welcome to Art + Painting!

Art and Painting is my decorative painting buisness. The name, while not very catchy, seems to cover most of what I do: decorative painting and art. Decorative painting is a nice word for a fancy paint job. Really anything beyond the normal rolled on color.

Decorative painting includes such techniques as glazing, faux painting, stripes, stries, woodgraining, tromp o'eil, decorative plasters, guilding or leafing, painted furniture, and mural work. On top of all that I do canvass work in oil or acrylic. It all has to do with paint of some type, and I try and produce things that I think lean towards the artistic.

COBA Winner 2006!

Roy Steves was awarded the winner of the COBA Award in 2006. COBA is a unique public art project where paintings are displayed throughout downtown Chico and voted upon by the public. As the winner, Roy will now modify his painting into a large mural that will be painted somewhere in downtown Chico. See more of Roy's bicycle art here .
